Laser Hair Removal

A long-term, stable, reduction in the number of hairs re-grow after the treatment.

How Do Lasers Remove Hair?

Laser devices utilize light energy to target the hair shaft and follicle and essentially impair the follicle's ability to grow hair. The melanin, or pigment, in the shaft and follicle absorb the heat from the laser energy and this effectively "kills" the hair follicle.

How Long Does The Treatment Take?

Laser hair removal is fast. Larger areas like the legs take approximately 20 minutes for a treatment. The underarm area can be treated in 5 minutes. laser hair removal in the bikini is now completed in 5 minutes. You can be in and out of the office on your lunch break!

Will I Need Multiple Treatments?

Hair grows in cycles that include and active growth phase, a transitional phase, and a resting or doormat phase. Follicles move individually through the cycle so that some of the hair on your legs may be transitioning while some are resting and the rest is actually growing.

Laser energy only targets hair in the active growth phase. Thus, the number of sessions required varies according to the individual and the area being treated, but most patients see adequate results with 3-5 treatments.

Hair anywhere on the body can be treated. The laser targets color (melanin), and black and brown hairs respond better. White, grey, blonde and light red hairs do not respond very well (refer to electrolysis). With each treatment, hairs become fewer, lighter and thinner.
